Nice was more than nice. It took me a couple of visits to get into its groove, but when I did - it was L O V E. I found it a bit hard to figure out at first; it seems really ritzy and grand, but I was looking for a bit of soul. That is what I stumbled upon along the Cours Saleya on a Monday- the antiques market of Nice- ooh la la. If you're into treasure hunting, you could spend all day at these...I wish I had! Bascially anything you could ever imagine to find, you will probably come across at these vast markets. The worst part is that most of the objects I wanted were large furniture items, which you have to just admire and not take home. The best part about these markets stalls

for the love of Rozelle.
the Rozelle markets have long been my favourite weekend haunt. the items in my house that get the most 'where'd you get that?'s are usually from Rozelle, same goes for my wardrobe. even when i was a poor uni student, i'd still find the odd saturday or sunday and a bit of cash to go treasure hunting here. it's on the must do list for my thrifty family visitors too. the selection of goodies is vast and very vintage; most of the sellers don't mind if you drive a hard bargain either. beyond the treasures, i just love the vibe…there is live music and yummy fresh juices and food. i love getting a corn on the cob and just taking my sweet time. i went this week for the first time in what feels like more than a year and i didn't come home with any of these below pictured treats (i only went for storage items), but looking can be just as fun!
*it reminded me a bit of this favourite.

low ride bicycles go cruising by...
i did a shoot with fabulous photographer Fiona Galbraith last month; we took some shots that i am really looking forward to sharing with you! to start, there's this one of one of my favourite things: a little wire low rider bicycle found at flea market in mexico city. i brought it home and added the mini basket, just big (small) enough to hold postage stamps- the sweetest little touch. i just adore it, don't you?

les vide greniers.
that's what they call their weekend flea markets in paris- vide grenier, meaning 'attic clearance'. these goodies were so special they deserve their own post. my favourite of the markets i moused around at when i was there, was one on avenue trudaine. heaven for blocks and blocks.
*momma: note the hat pins, buttons & perfume collection- i took them all for you.
