when i go home to Canada, one of my favourite places to visit is Regina, Saskatchewan; an artsy little cultural hub smack dab in the middle of the prairies. it's where most of my family is from, some of my favourite people live and also where i was born. it is home to some of the cutest, most unique houses, no little boxes made out of ticky tacky here- each one is different (at least in the cathedral area). you can tell that these homes are a source of pride to their owners as well, i always notice how cute their exteriors, porches and lawns are too. i posted about them, a couple of summers ago and have now captured some snaps in the snow. i even inadvertently snapped some of the same homes without even trying. you'll probably never go to Regina, so please enjoy this mini-tour thoroughly.

i have shared my parents' house with you here, here & here from my humble home series - the reason why i started this blog. it was so wonderful to spend such a perfect amount of time (i left when i was still wishing to stay longer; i think it's good to go out on top) at the home i know so well. it's also kind of special to have been able to document it in an extreme of seasons to last time, as well as all of the changes it has gone through; walls have been painted, rugs have been re-shuffled, objects have moved and most importantly, the kitchen and dining room have been entirely re-done. oh, and i will have to admit it as it's very obvious - my photography skills and this blog on the whole have come a loooonnnnggg way. welcome all, to where my heart is:

monday blues.

i'm back to work this morning after my beautiful holiday back home. since i've been back (less than a week), i have started back at screen acting classes, made my aussie stage debut for one night only (so fun!), gone to flickerfest - bondi's international short film festival- and most, importantly, i have been doing a lot of culling and organising around the house. once you start with one cupboard, you can't stop! since yesterday, i have however been very sick. totally run down, which was bound to happen with all the travel, lack of sleep and 60 degree difference in temperatures!

so, as much as i am excited for this new work week (and new year)…a little part of me wishes i was still in that pure white snowy wonderland with my family and not a care in the world.

happy new year everyone!!  i have just arrived home to sunny sydney, after what ended up being the longest flight of my life. we were delayed in vancouver by 7 hrs due to snow storms in toronto, plus the time it takes to defrost the plane and get sleepy people on board.

i had the best time in Canada and i am so pleased that Temple and Webster have chosen to share my week in pictures today from my time in the great white north. the best #throwbackthursday i can think of!  check it out, HERE.
