'my mom's got the car'. little dad joke for ya'. i've been playing along with the weekend hashtag project on instagram recently. this weekend the theme was ice cream and i had so much fun getting into the spirit of summer during winter down under. these final yummy images combine so many of my favourite things-  creative use/reuse of an object, super pretty colours together and a taste of nostalgia. thanks to my absolute favourite, my momma who served me vanilla ice cream in a cantaloupe bowl when i was little.

for goodness' sakura!

this is now the third year in a row that i have enjoyed cherry blossom (sakura) season in japan via instagram and it is so beautiful, it kind of hurts. this time of year is always bittersweet, because as much as i am in total awe of the spectacular blooms i see vicariously through others' lenses, i wish to be in tokyo so badly. i'm a firm believer in 'if you want something, you should be doing it' (though i know too well, this is often easier said than done)…yet, another end of march has passed and i did not spend it in japan. i vow right now that this time next year (unless there is some unforeseen circumstance, like i am giving birth or something…?!) i WILL be in tokyo for a sakura spring. yes!

my week in pictures.

happy new year everyone!!  i have just arrived home to sunny sydney, after what ended up being the longest flight of my life. we were delayed in vancouver by 7 hrs due to snow storms in toronto, plus the time it takes to defrost the plane and get sleepy people on board.

i had the best time in Canada and i am so pleased that Temple and Webster have chosen to share my week in pictures today from my time in the great white north. the best #throwbackthursday i can think of!  check it out, HERE.

cabin bed.

we were gifted a brand spankin' new mattress for christmas and only just got around to having it delivered TODAY. part of the delay was in deciding on a new bed frame and that took so long because we have itchy feet to move somewhere soon. squishy sleeps and sore backs stopped making sense however. when in doubt of how long you will be sticking around for, settle on the cheapest bed at IKEA and be merry. i'm SO happy with our new little set up. feels like cabin living; love it.

bespoke balloonery is THE place to go for all your unique, to-the-minute, beautiful party needs. there is nothing that this team cannot do to tailor your party pizazz to perfection. the colour possibilities are seemingly endless and each piece is constructed with your individuality in mind. the woman who runs the show is a creative visionary, always putting together the most whimsical stories like this 'jewel box dancer' carnivalesque photoshoot (that i was lucky enough to be a part of).

*i was given a gorgeous bespoke balloon for my last birthday that stayed afloat for weeks. waking up to this stunning creature, put a smile on my dial every morning; it was the gift that kept on giving. check it out stealing the scene below:

i just wanted to share with you the giveaway winner's bespoke dreamcatcher; Amanda of stay golden now sent me through this beautiful palette and left it up to my interpretation. here's what came from it- i think it turned out great and it was so much fun to make one uniquely to someone's taste. *if you want a dreamcatcher from the shop, please get in touch to choose colours specifically for you (or a loved one). it truly makes for a lovely collaboration.
